FREE COMMUNITY OFFERING – FACILITATED RESTORATION SESSIONS FOR HUMAN SERVICE WORKERS- July

“A Moment to Breathe: The Art of Maintaining Ourselves in Our Work”

Whilst often rewarding, working in the human services can also be draining in ways that we don’t immediately recognise. Understanding this, we are offering a series of special sessions focused on fostering well-being, resilience, and connection for people working in the human services.

This is your monthly invitation to pause, reflect, and restore in 2024. This Offering is for our July 10th Session.

Event Details:

  • Date:  July 10th, August 7th, September 4th, October 2nd, October 30th, November 27th, December 18th
  • Time: 9:00 am ACST, 9:30 am AEST
  • Location: Online (A link will be provided the day before the session)
  • Cost: Free – this is an offering from Connected Self

About The Sessions:

Working in the human services can sometimes leave us feeling exhausted, fatigued or depleted. It can also be difficult to witness the effects this can have in our personal lives. Sometimes these effects can creep up without us realising, by which time we are burnt-out and it can feel as though we no longer know how to support ourselves back into feeling well.

These one-hour online sessions are a facilitated opportunity to safely pause, reflect, and take bite-size pieces of nourishment to support your ongoing wellbeing. In them you may find insight into your felt experience, rest and relaxation, or even a sense of fulfilment or satisfaction. Led by an experienced Connected Self facilitator, these sessions provide a safe and supportive space to explore practical self-care strategies, engage with your inner world, and, when appropriate, connect with peers to experience a sense of our common humanity.

Although most benefit is gained in attending these sessions regularly, they can also be joined as a ‘once off’.

Session Highlights:

  • Safely ‘check-in’: We often miss this first step. Grant yourself this time to check-in with your thoughts, beliefs, emotions and bodily experience, facilitated with safety in mind.
  • Acknowledge: Learn simple techniques to accept what is really happening ‘under the surface’ so that you can then move forward.
  • Respond: By listening in to what’s needed, even in small ways, we empower ourselves to respond to our own needs to take in nourishment and experience rejuvenation.
  • Integrate: We will take the time to sit in the integration phase, where new neural connections and ‘wombat tracks’ are formed.
